The Mayne Football Club would like to acknowledge the passing of Mayne Juniors Life Member Steve Collings. Steve passed away suddenly on Sunday 20th November 2022 at just 64 years of age.
Steve was a wonderful servant of the Mayne Juniors performing the role of Vice President for many years as well as team management, fundraising and numerous other voluntary positions while his two younger children Samantha and David were playing for the Tigers. David went on to play senior football for the Tigers while both Steve and his wife Lynda were always involved supporting in whatever manner possible. Lynda is also a Life Member of the Mayne Juniors.
Steve will be remembered as the life of the party, always one to enjoy the company of everyone around him. Steve was the ultimate sportsman having played Ice Hockey at a high level as well as being a very good golfer playing as a Member of the Nudgee Golf Club.
Steve was one of the key people involved in starting up and organising the Mayne Juniors Golf Day in the late 1990’s which ran for over ten years to be a consistent and very successful fundraiser for the Junior club.
Steve lived life to the full and will be missed by his wide circle of friends from our football club, Ice Hockey, the Nudgee Golf Club and his time working for EDI Downer at numerous worksites across Australia.
A celebration of Steve’s life will be held at the Nudgee Golf Club, 1207 Nudgee Rd, Nudgee on Thursday 1st December 2022 from 2.00pm with all of his friends to share their memories and raise a glass.
