The Mayne Football Club is very excited to announce that Reserve Grade champion Danny Evans will coach the Tigers Reserve Grade in their Centenary year.
Danny has been a standout Reserves leader for the last twelve years achieving an unprecedented six Graham Walters Best and Fairest Trophies since 2012 along with four Peter Ives Player’s Player Awards in a remarkable career to date. Add four Reserve Grade Premiership medallions across 129 Reserve Grade and 69 Senior games and you can safely say he has been one of the most successful, capable and reliable players the club has produced in the last decade.
Danny takes over a Reserves side he has led for many years which has been one of the most successful in the club’s history with six premierships since 2014 with the most recent in 2023.
Danny is a naturally gifted midfielder who brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the role but just as importantly he is a very sensible, measured individual who is well respected by his peers.
The appointment of Danny Evans continues a very successful period of internal appointments for the club following on from Jack Gartlan, Bill Stephens, Corey Massingham and Josh Duffy as Reserve Grade mentors who have all achieved premiership success over recent times.
The club wishes Danny every success in taking on this important and integral role as part of the Senior Coaching Group.
